Our annual pack lock-in is Friday, January 10. We will have food, snacks, and information about Pinewood Derby. We are working on having a cutting station at the lock in, so if you have tools (skill saw, etc) that you’d be willing to bring and help cut, please email us!

Our annual jump party is TONIGHT at 6:30pm.  Please fill out your waiver BEFORE you arrive to smooth our entry. We will have pizza and cake for everyone. Remember that Pack 934 will pay for all scout entry fees, but please plan to pay for any non-scout siblings that jump. The group rate for an hour and a half is $18. We will be handing out pinewood derby cars as you leave; please remember to grab one on your way out!

My name is Konrad Wozniak, and I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society at Meadowlark Middle School, Scout Troop 934, Scouts Pack 934. And this is a kind reminder about my service project, Warm Coats for Warm Hearts.

I am collecting gently used or new winter coats for children, teens, and adults in need. All donations will go to the Community Coat Closet, a local nonprofit organization that provides coats to individuals and families in need, including victims of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.

Here are the key details of the project:

  • Collection Period: Now through December 2024
  • What I Need: Gently used or new coats for children, teens, and adults
  • Goal: To collect 100 coats

I would appreciate any donation, help to achieve my goal and spread warmth this winter.

Dear Pack 934 Scouts and families,

October 22nd (Tuesday night) was the deadline for submitting your door to door sales (Take Orders) and Online orders and payment.  If you have not paid yet, please bring your one check to the next den meeting and see Alicia or Kayla Rogers. 

We are so proud of each and every scout who got out there and participated this year!  Thanks to your effort we surpassed our 55k goal!!  We will share the final total during the November pack meeting but wanted to let you know what’s coming up next. 

What happens next?

Wednesday, October 23rd – October 30th: Select your Prizes! 

  • We need to place one group order for everyone’s prizes. 
     Last day to make your selections is October 30th!
  • Please check your Scout’s individual Camp Masters total before selecting your prize.
  • Then, go to this Google Form and submit your prize selection:

  • PLEASE SELECT ONLY PRIZES THAT ARE WITHIN THE LEVEL YOUR SCOUT HAS EARNED.

Veterans Day Parade

This Saturday, November 2nd, will be the annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown Winston Salem.  Our Pack usually walks in the Parade and is a welcome and valued addition to supporting our veterans.  Weather looks very good (mid sixties), but will probably be a little chilly in the morning.  Parade should last about two and a half hours.  All scouts should gather on 4th street near Foothills Brewpub to assemble in grouping order.  This is a Class A uniform event.

Fall Adventure Weekend

Pack 934 families,

It’s time to GO CAMPING!!!!!!! I wanted to reach out and share the information about Fall Adventure Weekend 2024 at Raven Knob so that we had a little time to prepare. I am attaching the full PDF of the leaders guide for the weekend. I will be arriving early on Friday (should be around 2-3pm) to make sure the campsites are all in order. Everyone will come directly to the campsite upon arrival and check in with leadership there. I am including some important information that needs to be filled out for check in to go smoothly. For those who have not attended before I have included our Car Camping checklist of what gear you may want to bring. I will also be going shopping for some new gear soon so if you want any guidance please feel free to contact me or any of the leaders and we will help you out with suggestions.  Signs ups are due this Friday (October 19)!

Parking will be next to the campsite at the climbing tower. Please pay attention to the signage that indicates where to park. 

Helpful Hints for Scouts and Parents

 ● Bring a Blank T-shirt for you Cub to use at the Screen-printing station.

 ● Events planned around the theme will take place in the camp program areas on Saturday. Arrive on Friday for the full Parent-Cub Weekend experience. 

● Hiking Opportunities are usually included as part of the activities so bring hiking boots and proper socks. 

● A visit to the Raven Knob Museum should be on everyone’s agenda! 

● The Trading Post will be open during camp for those that have forgotten needed items or wish to purchase scout memorabilia. 

● Wear comfortable closed toed shoes-no crocs, Chaco’s, sandals, flip flops, etc.! 

● Bring Rain Gear. 

● Pack Snacks Airtight containers and be sure to bring plenty of water. 

● Be Sure To Bring Your Fishing Pole, tackle box, and live bait. Catch and Release only. 

● A Lot of Great Photo Opportunities occur at Raven Knob, so be sure to bring a camera! 

● Bring a first aid kit for that small scratch. The Health Lodge is the place to go for bigger emergencies. 

● Always use the buddy system and never go hiking alone or when the trails are dark. 

● Be prepared for warm or cold weather by dressing in layers. While it may be sunny during the day and comfortable, the night or early morning can be chilly. 

● Bring Sunscreen And Insect Repellent. 

● Trail Mix Is Great for a snack in between meals and fits easily in your short pockets or in a small backpack. 

● Wildlife Was Here Before Us, so please respect all animals. 

● Always go hiking with buddies and never go without an adult. 

● S’mores and marshmallows are always a hit at the Pack campfire! 10

● Do not run or horseplay around any campfire and always keep a safe distance. 

● Be sure to talk to new Scouts and new Packs. Make them feel at home!
