Pack 934 Updates 1/31/17

Dear Friends,

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday!  I want to start by reminding the Webelos II den that they will NOT have a den meeting tonight, as they attended the boy scout meeting last night instead.  I also need to remind everyone that we do have a couple of sign-up deadlines tonight as well.  If you will not be present  at tonight’s meeting, but want to sign-up for any of the events, please text or email me, so I can ensure you are on the roster.

Also, If you are a Webelos II (or any den) and are participating in the God and Me Course, please remember we have our last class this evening at 6:00pm.   Thank you all so much for such great participation in this course.

The above mentioned deadlines are for the Wake Forest Basketball game that is this Saturday, February 4th and for Scout Sunday this Sunday, February 5th.  I know it seems fast but next Tuesday, February 7th will be the deadline to sign-up for the SciWorks Sleepover (they have to have the numbers a month in advance) and for our Pack Ski Trip.

You should receive flyers and bags tonight for our Scouting for Food event.  These flyers and bags can be distributed throughout your neighborhood, church, or wherever you prefer to distribute them.  The flyer is pretty self explanatory, stating you will pick the bags of non-perishable food items up from everyone the following Saturday, February 11th.  We will meet at Mt Tabor UMC at noon that Saturday to turn in our collected bags.  If you are unable to meet at noon, you may call me and I can assist in meeting you to get your collections.  This food will go to our local food pantry, The Bread of Life Food Pantry, to feed those in need.

Here is a brief message that was relayed to our Webelos II Den (and is now being relayed to all) from our CubMaster, Mr. Brad Wood:

“For those of you who were able to attend the Lock-In event Friday night, I think a good time was had by all.

I am still basking in the glow of the Pack Meeting last Tuesday night.  I was so incredibly impressed with all of the Scouts in our Pack.  Their behavior was absolutely impeccable, and the caliber and thoughtfulness of the questions they asked Mayor Joines just blew me away.  As I walked the Mayor to his car, he told me how deeply impressed he was by our Cub Scouts.   My heart was filled with pride and joy.   The future of our community is extremely bright with young men like our Cub Scouts to lead us when they grow into adulthood!”
