Pack Meeting Tonight!

Our pack meeting for the month of April is this evening at 7pm.  Remember – Class A’s!

Pack Hike
The Pack Hike is finally here!  We will plan to assemble at the trail parking lot between 1:30pm and 2pm and start on the trail at 2pm.  The hike is just under 4 miles, and we expect it to take 3-4 hours depending on stops.  The cookout afterward will include hotdogs and hamburgers with drinks, but those attending are encouraged to bring a side or dessert.   Please let us know you are coming by filling out this form and signing up to bring a side item or dessert here.

Items to bring:
Scouts should plan to bring the hiking essentials (water, food, first aid, sun protection, flashlight, rain gear, and a whistle) and attempt to carry them in their own pack. The Pack will also be providing delicious trail mix for all scouts who would like some (Alicia’s specialty)!

Weather is currently showing a high of 65 degrees and 56% chance of showers.  It also appears there will be some rain leading up to the hike, so wear appropriate shoes.

Scouts will encounter creeks, railroad tracks, and the Yadkin River.  If you think your scout would like to play in the creek, consider bringing a pair of water shoes and a towel or two.

The park and trail is dog friendly, but your pet must be leashed.

Best Directions:
10miles from US 52, take the Pinnacle exit (129) and turn left to follow the signs to Horne Creek Living Historical Farm.  The park entrance is .4 mile past the Home Creek Living Historical Farm.  The parking lot is about .3 mile past the park entrance on the left (and about .1 mile just past the “Yadkin River Section Ben Shoals Access” road (also on the left).  Note:  don’t be concerned you can’t see Pilot Mountain as this specific trail is at the base of the park along the Yadkin River.

The address of the Park Parking lot is 672 Hauser Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043

Spring Family Camping
Our annual camping trip will be held at Camp Raven Knob the weekend of May 19.  More information will be sent out closer to the date, but plan to show up on Friday evening and stay through Sunday morning.  The pack will be cooking together as CRK does not have any of its facilities open for use that weekend.  This is one of our most exciting camping trips – we get to play and have fun together as a pack.  We request that each family pay $5.00 per scout, with a maximum of $20 per family, to cover food costs. Siblings are welcome and encouraged to attend – this is a family camping event, after all! Please pay here, or Venmo Alicia @AliciaLemar.

Summer Camp
Camp invoices have gone out for those that have already signed up.  If you haven’t yet – it’s not too late!  Please fill out the interest form here.  Camp this year will be held on June 14-June 17.  Camp costs are $180 per scout and $85 per adult – one adult is required per scout.

Please remember that cub scouts require parent involvement.  Parents are expected to stay with their cubs during meetings.  Please make sure that you are helping facilitate a conducive learning environment for all scouts.  Leaders have noticed an increase in distracting behavior and its imperative that parents remain present to assist with any issues so that leaders can focus on activities.  Thank you for your help.
