Big Sweep Details – 10/3/15

Dear All,
I hope you are all well. Thank you for signing up to support our community by cleaning it up!
Currently, our pack has 38 people coming to the Big Sweep next Saturday, 10/3/15. I received our assignment last night. We have been assigned to Washington Park. We are to meet in a parking lot off of Broad street (please see my note below). We will be joined by local families, the Washington Park neighborhood association and a group of students from the School of the Arts.
I sent back a message asking for clarification on the meeting location and some other details. As soon as I have the answers to my questions, I will send them out to you. One of my questions was about attire for this event. As of right now, we will be in class B (cub scout t-shirts) with other details to follow from the KWSB (Keep Winston Salem Beautiful) team. Additionally, right now the weather looks good for next Saturday, mostly sunny with a high of 65 degrees. However, things can change so we will monitor it and leave messages as appropriate.
The KWSB  team is planning to have donuts in the morning and at the conclusion of the clean up there will be Cici’s pizza and water. The pack will be bringing hand sanitizer, paper towels and first aid kits as well as other supplies.
The KWSB team is providing gloves and trash bags.
I know Saturday mornings are hard for all of us but let’s meet at 8:45 am. We have some safety information to go over with the boys before we begin. Based on the information that came from KWSB, there will be at least 78 people in Washington Park volunteering that morning so the earlier you can get there the better for parking.
Click here for a waiver to be signed and returned to me at the den meetings on Tuesday (9/29). If you are not able to attend the den meetings, let me know and we will make other arrangements for the wavier. I will have some paper waivers at the sign up table on Tuesday as well.
I will post this information on the website and will add the details to the Big Sweep Webpage on our site.
Take care-
Shannon
