Important information
We have some upcoming events that have deadlines approaching:
1. Rechartering. Absolute deadline is next Tuesday, 3/19. If you have not rechartered by then, you will have to fill out a new application.
2. Resident Camp. $60 deposit is due by 4/9. Also you will need to provide t-shirt sizes for your scout and yourself. More information about Resident Camp is available under Pack Events->Resident Camp.
3. Dash Sleepover. Ticket payments are due by 4/16. updated deadline of 4/16.Tickets are $15/per person for those staying overnight, $10/per person for just the game.
4. Cub Scout Day Camp. This event is handled differently. You need to sign-up and pay at the scout office. Wolves & Bears: $70, Webelos: $80. After 5/27 the price goes up $10. Since this is after June 1st, your son will already be advanced to the next rank.

Scout Sunday
Scout Sunday is this Sunday at Mt Tabor UMC. This is the one time each year that we ask our scouts to attend one of two services at the church. We will be at the 9am Contemporary service (Higher Ground) and the 11am Traditional service.
Uniform of the day is Class A.
For Higher Ground, please come to the gym before 9am. For Traditional, please come to the Narthex by 10:30 so we can get everyone lined up to process in.
Rechartering
Rechartering begins tonight. For those of you that are relatively new to Scouting, rechartering is what we call the process of renewing for another year of Cub Scouts and paying the annual dues. Dues are $55, and that will include a handbook, neckerchief & slide for your son’s next rank.
The Scouting year runs from April 1st – March 31st. However our deadline to recharter is March 5th. After that date you will probably have to fill out another application.
Pinewood Derby
The annual Pinewood Derby is this weekend. This is going to be a little bit longer than usual, I hope you will read it all.
Schedule:
Friday, 2/8 6pm – 8pm: Registration and impound
Saturday 2/9 Raceday! Races are by rank:
8am – 9am Tigers
9am – 10am Wolves
10am – 11am Bears
11am – noon Webelos I
noon – 1pm Webelos II
1pm – 2pm Championship. Top 3 finishers of each rank
2pm – ? Parents/Leaders race. This has relaxed rules from the boys race.
Food will be available in the morning. Please read this note from Sheri Nebinger:
Hi all, We (the Cub Scouts) are stepping up to provide food for the PWD.. I am going to get some food.. What I need from you is to help sell the food… We will start at 830 and sell food until 12 noon or until it runs out.. Please let me know if you can volunteer for an hour or more or less.. Camp cards
We will be starting selling camp cards soon. The camp card program is an easy way to offset some of the cost of Scouting.
All vendors on the card this year are in Forsyth County! Food Lion is the anchor tear-off.
Cards sell for $5.00. For each card sold, $2.50 goes into an account in your scout’s name. You can use those funds towards any event fees that the Pack collects.
We will be distributing the cards at the February Pack Meeting.
If you are interested, please email your Den Leader with the following info:
1. Scout name
2. # of cards you want
Den Leaders, please consolidate the responses and send them to me.
At the end of the sale, you will need to turn in the money and any unsold cards.
I will be collecting money at each Pack meeting so you don’t have to hold it until the sale end.
Lock-In late arrivals
I’ve heard from a few people that will be arriving late due to basketball, MES Mother-Son Bash, etc. If you didn’t email me but are planning a late arrival please let me know. I need the scout’s name and estimated arrival time.
