Lock-In Details

Here’s some information about the Lock-In this Friday evening.

7pm – 7am
7:00-7:25 Belt Loop Session 1.
7:30-7:55 Belt Loop Session 2.
8:00-8:25 Belt Loop Session 3.
8:30-9:00 Pizza snack in Fellowship Hall
9:00-10:00 Games in Family Life Center (Gym).
10:00 – 10:15 setup bedding, brush teeth etc
10:15 – 11:45 Movie in FLC.
6:30am Wake-up, pack up.
7:00am Out the door!  Breakfast is on your own.

Uniform of the evening is Class B (any scouting t-shirt).  Scouts do not need their handbooks.

A parent is required to spend the night if their scout is a Tiger. For all other ages, a parent should spend the night. If they can’t, that parent needs to arrange with another parent in their Den to be responsible for their son.

We will be sleeping on the floor of the FLC. It gets chilly in there overnight, so sleeping bags are recommended. Also you may want to bring an air mattress or cot.

Any questions let me know.

Lock-In Registration

You should have received a registration email with options to sign up for belt loop activities. We will have 3 sessions for belt loops, so the 4th choice and alternate choice are in case I can’t put your scout in one of his first 3 choices.

Important: if your scout will be arriving late, please email Michael Nebinger.

If you didn’t get a registration email, also email me.

Email Subscriptions

As promised, I have just finished adding everyone’s email address that I had to the website.  So if you hadn’t subscribed to email updates, you are now 🙂

Every email from the website includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom.  So if your email address changes or you want to get these emails at a different address, then please subscribe your preferred address and unsubscribe the one this email came to.

In the next few days I will be posting the details for our January Lock-In.  Also, you will be getting an email from EventBrite for putting the preferred activity your son would like to do at the Lock-In.  So keep an eye open for it.

Popcorn Dates to remember

These dates are being put on our events calendar also.

Thursday 11/15 5-7pm Popcorn pickup in Fellowship Hall.

Tuesday 11/27 7-8pm Popcorn money due. No cash. Checks made out to Pack 934.

Tuesday 12/4 Skate Party. Popcorn prizes handed out.

Last minute reminders

If you’re coming to Parent Son, here’s a few reminders:

Don’t forget to bring your son’s uniform.

Health forms need to be printed out and signed.

If I look like my head is going to explode, it’s probably because I need help 🙂

Health form link updated

I updated the link on the Forms page for the BSA Health Form.  Every attendee needs to bring this form with them and give it to me at the campsite.  I will have the Health Forms at the next Pack meeting to return if you want it back.  After the Pack meeting the forms that remain will be shredded.

Remember the form is required for everyone, not just scouts.

Camp Raven Knob Parking & campsite assignments

I’ve had a few questions about parking for Camp Raven Knob. When you arrive, you can drive to the campsite to unload. Then you will have to park in a designated area. For our sites the parking area is the field beside the archery range. You’ll see the area on your left before you get to our sites.

I’m not sure which site is the first one you will see in the right, but the first of our assigned sites will be Webelos Is & IIs. Tigers, Wolves, and Bears will be at the 2nd site. Some Bears may have to camp at the first site as overflow.

All meals will be served at the first site. Depending on picnic tables we will probably be eating at both sites.

Parent Son campsite assignment

We have been assigned Cochise and Sequoia campsites. I’m trying to get a campground map that shows these sites. If you look at the map on Raven Knob’s website the sites are at the top of the map where it says shotgun range.

Deadline extended for Parent Son Camporee

Tomorrow night is the absolute deadline to sign up for the 2012 Parent Son Camporee.  So far there are 46 scouts signed up!  Don’t miss out on a fun camping event for you and your son!

The Pack has a few tents that are available to borrow.  Please email me to reserve one.  They are first come, first served.

Also, our dessert Saturday night will be Dutch Oven desserts.  There will be a contest to see who the master of the cast iron is in our Pack!  We also have a few dutch ovens available for anyone that wishes to join in the cooking.  The Pack will supply the charcoal!  You just need to bring your recipe and the ingredients.  For those with nut allergies we will have alternate desserts available.  Even if you are bringing your own dutch oven, please let me know if you plan on participating so I can plan accordingly!
