For those scouts wanting to show their appreciation to Mount Tabor Methodist Church for allowing Pack 934 to use their facilities, Scout Sunday is this Sunday, 2/16 at 8:40am.  Scouts will serve the church as smiling greeters, handing out bulletins and collecting the offering.  It’s a very small donation of time for the many times we use the church facilities.  

It is also the end of the Scouting for Food drive, so please help Pack 934 and Troop 934 do their best to stock the Maple Spring Methodist Church food pantry by bringing a few items.

The volunteer Food Pantry Director advises their most critical priority needs are:
    > Breakfast items such as cereal, cereal bars and pop tarts.
    > Crackers such as saltines, ritz crackers, nabs and cheese crackers.
    > Condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salad dressing and BBQ sauce.
    > Other non-perishable food in cans or boxes are certainly welcome but the items above are what the Food Pantry runs out of most frequently and short supply.

The Pinewood Derby is almost here! Impound will take place on Friday, February 7 from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a table to make adjustments as needed. The derby will take place on February 8 starting at 8am. The schedule is as follows:

8:00am: Lions

9:00am: Tigers

10:00am: Wolves

11:00am: Bearsx

12:00pm: Webelos

1:00pm: AOL

2:00pm: Championship Race

The parent race will immediately follow the championship race.

There are no den meetings tonight – we have our monthly Pack Committee Meeting. If you are interested in getting involved, please plan to attend at 6:50pm in the Scout Room at Mt. Tabor UMC.

Basketball at Wake Forest

Scout Day at Wake Forest is this Saturday, February 1, at noon. Please click here to purchase tickets. Tonight is the last night to purchase. This is a Class A event. The first 30 scouts to purchase tickets will be able to line the tunnel to high-five the team as they make their way to the court.

Our annual jump party is TONIGHT at 6:30pm.  Please fill out your waiver BEFORE you arrive to smooth our entry. We will have pizza and cake for everyone. Remember that Pack 934 will pay for all scout entry fees, but please plan to pay for any non-scout siblings that jump. The group rate for an hour and a half is $18. We will be handing out pinewood derby cars as you leave; please remember to grab one on your way out!

Service Project

Dear Parents,

My name is Konrad Wozniak, and I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society at Meadowlark Middle School, Scout Troop 934, Scouts Pack 934. And this is a kind reminder about my service project, Warm Coats for Warm Hearts.

I am collecting gently used or new winter coats for children, teens, and adults in need. All donations will go to the Community Coat Closet, a local nonprofit organization that provides coats to individuals and families in need, including victims of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.

Here are the key details of the project:

• Collection Period: Now through December 2024
• What I Need: Gently used or new coats for children, teens, and adults
• Goal: To collect 100 coats

I would appreciate any donation, help to achieve my goal and spread warmth this winter.
